In October’2006, Channel Punjab was introduced into Europe where it too has been well received. Since then Channel Punjab is also launched in U.A.E.

The channel will offer a wide bouquet of informative and entertaining programs and will touch upon all aspects of Punjabi life and culture, which has been ignored far too long. This will be the first true Family Punjabi Entertainment Channel catering for the Punjabis of Punjab and the Punjabis living outside the Punjab.

Punjabi language and culture is full of colour and life. It is time to give the Punjabis of the world an International platform so that we can show the whole world what Punjabis of Punjab have to offer: Family Values, Culture, Music, Comedy, History, Religion and much much more.

We, at Channel Punjab want to go back to our roots and give to the Public what they want, and what they have been missing- A Channel where they can sit with all the Family Members and watch a programme, which is pleasing to all.

With the passage of time and modernization, the younger generations of Punjabis are being denied this very fact. We, at Channel Punjab intend to bring back what our ancestors started. We should always remember that we are Punjabi by Heart and Soul, which is a God given gift.

It is Channel Punjab objective to bring back the family values for our next generation, which our ancestors passed onto us and let us never forget how they struggled and fought to keep their values and identity intact.

Channel Punjab realized that to be different from the other Punjabi Channels, they would require the support from the Derewals family living in the UK, a true Punjabi family living abroad, who are like-minded Punjabis with the same vision of Channel Punjab.

The Derewal’s group traces its history back to year 1952 when Late Sardar Bhagwan Singh migrated to UK with his family. What started off as a cloth business grew up to become a real estate giant under the visionary leadership of Sardar Bhagwan Singh - A very humble and peaceful man who gave a lot of time and devotion to carry out the good deeds in life. He had a vision to use his good fortune in helping the poor and the needy. The motivating force is the sweet memory of Late Sardar Bhagwan Singh Digpal and Mata Bhagwanti, who had a commitment to improve the living standard of people in India and the third world.

Derewals continue to help the poor and needy people of India. To date we offer our service in the form of :

d) Free Blanket for the old in winter
e) Eye Camps

Nowadays, they have a vast business empire and not forgetting their roots, in 1999/2000 Sardar Ranjit Singh Derewal came to India and continued what his father had started, which was to help the poor people of India. Today, we have Ranjit Singh Derewal’s sons Jasbir, Nishaan and Dilbaagh Singh who have also joined forces to continue the footsteps of their ancestors.

We the whole team work force of the Derewals Group + Channel Punjab, personally feel that Ranjit Singh Derewal is a MISSIONARY person and there are very few people of this sort and caliber on the earth. We are privileged to have the opportunity to work under the dynamic leadership of such a down to earth human being. We pray before the Almighty to support him as he is supporting those who are less fortunate.

To make quality programs, it is imperative that the right infrastructure is in place to be able to compete. We felt that if we are to be a channel for the Punjabis then there is only one place that we can be based and that is Punjab itself. Our studios are based in Mohali, Punjab near Chandigarh.

We have two state-of-the-art, fully integrated shooting floors, which are built up to international standards and have the right reverberation time with the zero level air conditioning and environment noise. This has been achieved by our experienced and dedicated team of experts. We hope that the people of Punjab will take full advantage of this and will feel that this channel is their own.
